13 Best False Lashes in 2023 That Easily Apply and Stay Put

By Angela Trakoshis and Jennifer Hussein

We get it — these days, beauty lovers across the globe have seemingly embraced the ease of barely-there, minimalist makeup looks. But hear us out: the best false lashes are a quick and easy way to amplify your eyes and can make you look like you have it together (even if you really don't).

Whether you fancy your lashes to look wispy, fluttery, or so long and full they almost touch your brows, falsies are the ultimate ticket to turning up your look a few notches. Forget the dreaded smudging, flaking, or fallout you get from certain mascaras; once applied, fake lashes stay put and look amazing until it's time to take them off.

Mastering the lash application process takes time, but practice makes perfect, according to New York City-based makeup artist Tommy Napoli. "Always start by measuring your lash to your lash line; a lot of these bands are longer than people's eye space, so it's always good to measure and trim accordingly," he says. After that, Napoli applies a thin layer of glue and a thicker layer to the inner and outer corners of the lash band, then lets the glue dry down to a tacky finish and places the lash on the lid. Regardless of your beauty M.O. — natural, bold, or somewhere in between — there's sure to be a set out there to suit your personal style. If you're a beginner, don't be skeptical or intimidated. Just scroll through for proof, because here, you'll find everything from individuals and half-lash accents to full-strip options with oomph-enhancing volume.

Whatever your preference, these makeup artist- and Allure editor-approved faux lashes ahead will give you the sultry, Tyra Banks-worthy smize you've always wanted. (You can thank us later.)

All products featured on Allure are independently selected by our editors. However, when you buy something through our retail links, we may earn an affiliate commission.

"Call me old-fashioned, but I still love Ardell lashes the best," says Los Angeles-based makeup artist Katie Mellinger. And her reasons why are pretty valid. “They're reasonably priced and cruelty-free, so they're appropriate for everyone.”

They also come in various styles, but you arguably get the most bang for your buck when you grab the Demi Wispies Multipack. It's a five-pair set of ultra-wispy lash strips that boost drama while still having a natural look.

The House of Lashes Iconic Lite False Lashes have more of a dramatic finish, but the beauty of this single set is that these strip lashes are lightweight and feathery enough for everyday wear. These thick, long lashes are a slimmed-down version of the brand's original Iconic Lashes with a thin, wearable band that won't weigh your lids down and only two layers of long synthetic fibers.

Chances are, you probably shop Anastasia Beverly Hills' eyebrow-enhancing lineup, but don't snooze on the Norvina False Lashes. Each set comes in seven varying lash styles to choose from, including the pair of dramatic lashes seen above aptly named So Hollywood, which are fitting for all the cocktail gown-worthy special occasions on your calendar.

Don't worry, vegans, no animals were harmed in the making of Huda Beauty's Faux Mink Lash Collection. This luxurious collection features two of the best lashes on the market: Noelle #14, a beginner-friendly style that has lash extension-like length, and Farah #12, a more dramatic look that's meant for full glam days.

One of the best false eyelashes around is, without a doubt, the MAC 76 Lash. Rather than having a cat eye effect like most options, this set of fake eyelashes features teeny bushels of synthetic fibers of varying lengths to create an all-around fuller, more voluminous, and Bambi-eyed look.

The Sephora Collection Vegan False Eyelashes are a line of six reusable vegan false lashes in a different assortment of styles. Pictured here is the style Fringe, a full lash that features wispy hairs that add overall thickness and volume to your lashes.

Available in four different styles, the Lilly Lashes Lite Faux Mink Lashes are great because of their super soft hair and strong band. Above is the style Mykonos, a round lash that works best on almond-shaped eyes. If that's not your speed, check out the Miami style, which is known to compliment most eye shapes.

First-timer? Try Glamnetic's Magnetic Half Lashes. These fool-proof lashes feature a trimmable band with magnet technology for a glue-free, mess-free look. It's a shorter lash that really brings attention to any eye look. Just don't forget to keep in mind you'll need a magnetic liner to apply these.

The Kiss Falscara Eyelash Starter Kit comes with lashes, tweezers, and a dual-ended bond and seal. The lashes themselves come in three different options: Lengthening (shown above), Volumizing, and Lifting. They have slightly different appearances but are still subtle enough to look natural.

According to staff editor Nicola Dall'asen, they take a while to get the hang of, but when you take the time to nail the technique, the results have a much bigger payoff. To apply these, dot some of the glue onto the lash and place it under your lash line. The smaller sections give you a more natural vibe, but feel free to use them all if you want a more dramatic effect.

The flexible silk band on the Velour The Effortless Collection is hard to compete with, which is why we awarded them a 2020 Best of Beauty award. These are designed to fit every lash line, with no measuring or trimming required. Sounds hard to believe, but it's true (we tested it). Pictured here are the style Would I Lie? a naturally flared lash that elevates any look — subtle or full-on glam. Plus, these are super lightweight and the crisscrossed design helps them appear more like your natural hairs.

First, Jenna Lyons revolutionized the way we dress; now, she's changing our falsie game for the better, of course. Her brand LoveSeen touts handmade lashes made of nylon and come in different styles and colors. Here is Axel in brown/black, but there's also an option available in light brown for a more subtle approach.

Lashify can seem intense, but according to New York City-based makeup artist Nam Vo, it's the way to go. "This system is one of the most innovative products of our time," she says. "It takes up zero space on my actual eyelid and doesn't take away from the makeup because it's all tucked away under." Just apply the Bond to each individual lash, and attach it to your natural lash from underneath for that enviable extension look without having to go to the salon.

According to Tommy, the Eylure Luxe Silk Marquise Lashes are the way to go. "Not only are they affordable but they are also super easy to apply from the box to the eye," he says. Just one layer of the glue they provide and these super-thin bands stick to your lash line for hours upon hours (no touch-ups needed).
